Sync sign-ups with Zapier or a webhook
For platforms without a direct integration, send every new sign-up to Zapier, or any webhook, in real time.
Not on Ghost, Beehiiv or Steady? No problem. A webhook sends every new sign-up from your collaborations straight to your email tool, as it comes in.
Part 1: Create a webhook in Zapier
In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger.
Select Catch Hook.
When asked to configure a Child Key, leave it empty.
Copy the webhook URL Zapier gives you.
Part 2: Add the webhook URL to Trustfnd
Open the menu in the top-right corner and choose Account settings. You'll land on Publications.
Click Edit on the publication.
Turn on Sync Subscribers.
Paste the URL into Webhook URL and click Save Configuration. The URL has to start with
https.
Part 3: Test the connection
Click Send Test Webhook.
Wait 5–10 seconds, then click Test trigger in Zapier to see the test data.
Add your email tool (Mailchimp, Kit, and so on) as the action, and turn the Zap on.
From here on, every new sign-up is sent to Zapier in real time.
What data does the webhook send?
email: the subscriber's email addressnewsletterId: your newsletter IDnewsletterTitle: your newsletter's namesubscribedAt: when they signed up (ISO timestamp)signUpSource: the page they signed up on, for example@jane-doeprivacyPolicyAcceptedandtermsOfServiceAccepted: "true" or "false"
Can I use something other than Zapier?
Yes. Any HTTPS webhook endpoint works. When you save, we show you a Webhook Secret once. Save it if you'd like to verify the X-Trustfund-Signature header on each request. That part is optional.
Why does my webhook say "Auto-disabled"?
We switch a webhook off after 5 failed deliveries in a row, so we don't keep sending sign-ups into the void. While it's off, new sign-ups aren't synced to your email tool.
To switch it back on:
Check the other side first. Is your Zap still switched on? Is the webhook URL still the right one?
Under Account settings → Publications, click Edit on the publication.
Switch Enable Webhook back on, check the Webhook URL, and click Save Configuration.
Click Send Test Webhook to make sure it arrives.
The sign-ups you missed are safe. Export them as a CSV and import them into your email tool. Export new sign-ups gives you only the ones you haven't exported yet.
