Add a publication

You need at least one publication before you can create or join a collaboration.

Every publication starts the same way:

1. Open the menu in the top-right corner and choose Account settings. You'll land on Publications.

2. Click Add new publication and select your platform: Ghost, Beehiiv, Steady or Other newsletter.

3. Fill in your Publication Title, Publication URL, Privacy Policy URL and Terms of Service URL. A Description (up to 60 characters) and a Publication Icon are optional. We'll try to detect your icon from your site.

Then connect your platform, as described below.

How do I connect Ghost?

Keep the Trustfnd integration toggle on. You need it for Bundle Passes and for adding sign-ups to your list automatically. Then grab three things from Ghost Admin → Settings → Integrations, where you add a custom integration:

• Content API Key

• Admin API Key (it looks like id:secret)

• API URL (your Ghost site URL, for example https://yoursite.ghost.io)

1. Paste all three into the Ghost Connection fields.

2. Click Test Connection. You'll see "Credentials verified. You can now add the publication."

3. Click Add Publication.

Once you're connected:

• Sign-ups from your collaborations are added to your Ghost site as free members. You can switch this off with the Auto-push new subscribers toggle.

• Bundle Pass buyers get access to your paid content for as long as their Pass lasts.

• When a Pass holder later becomes a paying member, we notice automatically. Nothing to set up.

How do I connect Beehiiv?

Keep the Trustfnd integration toggle on, then add two things from Beehiiv:

• API Key, from your Beehiiv API settings.

• Publication ID, from your Beehiiv dashboard URL or API settings. Use the v2 publication ID. It starts with pub_.

1. Paste both into the Beehiiv Connection fields.

2. Click Test Connection. You'll see "Credentials verified. You can now add the publication."

3. Click Add Publication.

Once you're connected:

• Sign-ups from your collaborations are added to your Beehiiv publication on the free tier. You can switch this off with the Auto-push new subscribers toggle.

• Bundle Pass buyers get access through a tier we create in your Beehiiv called Trustfnd Bundle Access. It's a copy of the tier you chose, without a price. Please don't delete it.

• We can detect when a Pass holder becomes a paying subscriber if you're on Beehiiv's Scale plan or above. Beehiiv only offers the webhooks we need from that plan up.

How do I connect Steady?

1. Keep the Trustfnd integration toggle on.

2. Paste your Steady API Key into the Steady Connection field.

3. Click Test Connection. We detect your publication for you.

4. Click Add Publication.

Good to know:

• Sign-ups from your collaborations are added to your Steady publication's free newsletter. You can switch this off with the Auto-push new subscribers toggle.

• For Bundle Passes, paid access on Steady is upgraded manually after each purchase, via your partner dashboard CSV. The plan you pick when you set up the Bundle Pass sets the price and tells your team which plan to assign.

• Steady doesn't offer upgrade webhooks, so we can't detect automatically when a Pass holder becomes a paying member.

How do I add a newsletter that isn't on Ghost, Beehiiv or Steady?

Any newsletter works for a Newsletter Bundle, whatever tool you send it with. Select Other newsletter, fill in the details and click Add Publication.

Without a direct integration, sign-ups don't land in your email tool by themselves. You have two options:

• Automatic: sync sign-ups with Zapier or a webhook.

• Manual: export your sign-ups as a CSV and import them into your tool.

Bundle Passes need a connected Ghost, Beehiiv or Steady publication, because that's how buyers get access to your paid content.

How do I edit or remove a publication?

Under Account settings → Publications, click Edit on the publication. If the setup isn't finished yet, the button says Complete Setup.

• Edit: change the details you need, then click Save Changes. From here you can also connect or disconnect Ghost, Beehiiv or Steady. A word of caution: if you disconnect your platform, people who buy a Bundle Pass will no longer get access to your publication.

• Remove: click Delete and confirm. A publication can't be deleted while it's used in an active collaboration, so leave or archive that collaboration first.
