Getting started

How do I get verified?

What we ask for when you join, and what you can do while verification is in progress.

Trustfnd is a community of journalists and other knowledge creators built on shared standards. Verification is how we keep it that way, and it's what makes collaborating here easy.

What we ask for

  1. Commit to Trust Promises. When you sign up, you commit to basic, shared standards: You verify the accuracy of what you publish and cite sources, you disclose potential conflicts of interest including how your work is funded, and you correct errors transparently.

  2. A bit about you: a username, your name, your Bluesky account (or tick that you don't have one), your publication, and a link to your ethics statement or about page.

  3. Optional extras that speed things up: your genres, formats and topics.

While you wait

You'll see a Verification in progress note in your dashboard. You can already look around, set up your profile and save a collaboration as a draft. Once you're verified, you can invite others and publish.

Only verified journalists appear in the Collaborators tab, so getting verified is also how other journalists find you.

If we can't verify you

We’ll send you an email and if you think we got it wrong, you can reach out to us.
