The upgrade email series and your results

Which emails Pass holders get around expiry, when they stop, how upgrades are counted, and where to see your results.

Which emails do Pass holders get?

This is the series we send to each Pass holder around their expiry date. It starts automatically about 5 days before the Pass expires. You don't have to trigger anything. Everything goes out between 9:30 and 11:00 in the Pass holder's local time zone.

What the series looks like depends on how many creators in the collaboration have added an offer. When 2 or 3 creators have offers:

Email

When

What's in it

Teaser: "Your Bundle Pass is expiring"

About 5 days before expiry

Every offer in the collaboration, one row per creator, each with a Claim offer button.

Featured: "Keep access to [publication]"

One per day, on the days after

One creator's offer in the spotlight: publication, perks, discount, big claim button. The other offers sit below as a compact list. Every creator with an offer gets a featured email.

Last chance: "Your Bundle Pass expired"

1 day after expiry

All offers again, with the note that access has ended.

"Miss them?"

14 days after expiry

One final nudge with all offers. It's not too late to keep supporting.

Pass holders receive the version that matches their own language. You can preview the series from the collaboration's manage page.

When only one creator has an offer

A shorter series. No teaser: a single featured email a couple of days before expiry, then the same Last chance (1 day after) and Miss them? (14 days after).

What if I don't add an offer?

Then you simply don't appear in the series. Pass holders either get no upgrade emails at all (if nobody in the collaboration added one), or they get emails featuring the other creators, without you. Add one. It costs nothing, and it's your best shot at converting Pass holders.

When do the emails stop?

  • The Pass holder upgrades. When we detect a paid subscription on your platform, we record the conversion and the series stops, so nobody gets pestered with an offer they've already taken.

  • The Pass holder unsubscribes. Standard unsubscribe handling. Unsubscribed Pass holders never get the series.

  • The series just ends after "Miss them?". Each Pass holder goes through it once per Pass.

  • You stop it. Click Stop sending on the collaboration's manage page. New buyers then don't receive the series with your offer. More on stopping an offer.

How are upgrades counted?

When a buyer subscribes after their Bundle Pass ends, we count it as an upgrade and stop emailing them. What that needs depends on where your publication lives.

Platform

Detection

Ghost

Automatic. We detect upgrades through your connected Ghost integration. Nothing to set up.

Beehiiv

Automatic on the Scale plan and above. Upgrade detection uses Beehiiv webhooks, which lower plans don't offer, so conversions can't be tracked there yet.

Steady

Not available. Steady doesn't offer upgrade webhooks. Buyers still receive the full email series.

Where do I see my results?

Every Claim offer click runs through a tracked Trustfnd link before it lands on your page, and upgrades on your platform are detected automatically where your platform allows it.

  1. Go to Growth, find the Bundle Pass under Collaborations and click View bundle.

  2. Scroll to the Upgrade offers card. You can also jump there with View analytics from the collaboration's manage page.

The card covers the last 90 days and shows:

  • Sent: buyers whose email series started with your offer included.

  • Clicked: buyers who clicked through to your offer page. We count one click per buyer, no matter how many emails they opened.

  • Converted: buyers who actually subscribed on your platform after the bundle. Available for Ghost, and for Beehiiv on the Scale plan and above.

  • Click rate: clicks divided by sent.

From the same card you can edit your offer or stop sending.
