Your profile and Link in bio

Set up your profile

Bio, picture, publishing channels, topics, Trust Promises, featured links and contact details.

Your profile is how audiences and fellow journalists get to know you. Everything here lives in one place: open the menu in the top-right corner and choose My profile.

There's no save button. Your changes save on their own, and you'll see a small Saved note once they're in.

How do I edit my bio and profile picture?

  1. To change your picture, click your profile picture at the top of the page, pick an image, then drag to reposition and zoom until it looks right.

  2. Type into the Short bio field. You get up to 80 characters, so introduce yourself in one sentence.

Want to check how it looks to your audience? Switch to the Link in bio tab for a live preview.

How do I add publishing channels?

Publishing channels tell people where to find your work. They show up on your profile and your Link in bio.

  1. Scroll to Publishing Channels and click Add channel.

  2. Pick the type: Website, Bluesky, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Spread, Substack, Facebook, Medium, Patreon, Tumblr, Twitter/X or LinkedIn.

  3. Paste your URL. For a website you can also add a title, and you can add more than one website.

Drag the handle on the right of a channel to change the order. Click the ✕ next to a channel to remove it.

Added your Bluesky account when you signed up? Then it's already here. Your Bluesky account is also what puts you under Connected with you in the Collaborators tab.

How do I add my topics, formats, genres and languages?

These details are how other journalists find you in the Collaborators tab, and how we show what the two of you have in common.

  • Language: add the languages you publish in.

  • My topics: search and add the topics you cover. You can list up to 5, and you can still add your own wording on top.

  • My formats: pick what fits: Podcast & Audio, Video, Text, Visual or Data.

  • My genres: pick the kind of journalism you do: Reporting, Investigative, Analysis, Opinion, Curated, News or Other.

How do I add Trust Promises?

Trust Promises link your audience straight to your ethics statement or editorial standards. It's a small badge that says a lot.

  1. Scroll to Trust Promises and paste the link to your ethics statement.

  2. Wait for the Saved note. That's it.

To show or hide it on your Link in bio, switch to the Link in bio tab and use the Show the trust promise toggle. The toggle only appears once you've added a link.

Featured links are for the work you want front and center: a big investigation, your podcast, your best explainer.

  1. Scroll to Featured Links and click Add featured link.

  2. Paste the URL and add a Title. A Description is optional (up to 40 characters).

  3. We look for a preview image on the page. If there are several, tap the one you like, then choose With image or Without image.

  4. Click Add Link.

To remove a featured link, click the bin icon next to it. To choose which links show on your Link in bio, see Set up your Link in bio.

Who can see my contact details?

Only people you're connected with. Nobody else on Trustfnd, and nobody outside it.

When you and another journalist connect, each of you unlocks the other's contact details, so you can take the conversation to email or WhatsApp.

To add or change them, go to Contact details and add your Email address. A Phone number is optional. You can also pick a different email address to share each time you send or accept a connection request.

Stuck? We're here for you at support@trustfnd.com.
